Befunky.com: Make a Funky Avatar!

While I was commenting a post, I have noticed that my avatar was so boring, so I decided to make it more interesting. Then I remembered a close friend of mine having this cool look-alike cartoon avatar that he has. He told me once about that website of this cool avatar generator but I could not recall what was it. So I decided to look for it in Google.

Changing from keyword to another, I still could not find that website I was looking. However, I came across to this interesting website, BeFunky. Though it was not what I really wanted, I was curious enough to try the website because it claims to make photos funky.

There are a lot of options you can find in their user-friendly application and I was amazed that they have developed such wonderful application in Flash. However, I was not impressed by the result, though it had made a wonderful result to my photo, since I could make similar result if I'll be using Gimp or Photoshop.

BeforeAfter

But I still be using the avatar until I'll find that cool look-alike cartoon avatar generator like this one.

If you know how I can make an avatar like this one, I will be much happier if you share it with me. Thanks a lot!

4 Points in Writing A Good Blog Post to Get Free Traffic From It

Here are 4 Points you need to remember in writing a good post and this things are the things you're going to improve in order to get free traffic from it. It is really a matter of style in posting in your blog and you don't need to be someone just to be a good blogger.

Here it is.

1. The title

The title is the one which has the bigger title in the search engine and most searchers consider the title as their only basis of selecting a result. So, your post title must contain all the possible keywords in your post.

2. The body

The description of the search results usually are the first paragraph of the post. So it would much better if you place your key keywords on the first paragraph.

3. The keywords

Search engines also consider the connection of links inside your blog. This is also one of the basis of ranking your blog. It would be much wiser if you hyperlinked some keywords to your previous post.

4. The Tags

The tags must be your keywords also because these are much relevant to your post.

5 Must-Read Tips to Increase Blog Traffic

Each visitor to your blog or website is a potential customer, and any changes you make to the overall site design, usability, or quality of content on your blog can create or damage the customer-client relationship. You want to avoid turning visitors away because of a poorly-constructed site or presentation, and set your sights on finding ways to boost traffic.

Here are 5 ways to increase your blog's traffic.

1. Hosting the blog on your own domain.

This makes it much easier for search engines to find, and also makes your URL much more credible.

2. Write good titles.

Even people who are already subscribing to your blog may not actually click on the information you have written unless they are compelled to do so. Make sure your titles are on topic and describe the content you are posting. Using keywords in your titles makes it much easier for search engines to discover them as well.

3. Participate in discussion groups, forums, and even other blogs.

Taking initiative with your own social networking can help you gain a steady audience very quickly; try participating in online communities related to your industry, or run some keyword searches yourself and find out what your prospects are talking about within your niche.

4. Tag your content as often as possible.

Since many people run searches based on tags and keywords, larger sites including Digg, Technorati, and StumbleUpon use tags to sort all content published on the web, and you can reach a larger audience simply by breaking apart your content and submitting it to the appropriate categories.

5. Write quality content.

the more quality you provide for your readers, the higher the chances that your audience will link to you and share the information you are presenting to others.

Guidelines in Writing Good Post

To write good posts, good content is the prerequisite. This can be generated if it follows certain guidelines:

(1) Be attention-seeking

A piece of good content is attention seeking. It contains information that is helpful and valuable to visitors who will return to source for others. Your blog will be bookmarked in the process. It will become a popular resource blog.

(2) Inducing subscription

With the content that is updated on a regular basis, it is good to provide visitors with a subscription feature. They will be able to subscribe through the feed system on your blog.

(3) Always aiming for more links

None is further from the truth that if your blog has more incoming links, your rankings on search engines will vastly improve. This is a result that will happen only after your blog has gained a favorable impression with other bloggers in terms of good blog content. In their eyes, your blog is their valuable resource center.

(4) Welcoming comments

To encourage openness and friendly interaction, always encourage visitors to post their comments on your blog. It is good for self-development. Comments should be taken with a positive mindset.

(5) Encourage action-taking

In your content, it is always possible to arouse the interest and urgency of the visitors to engage them in your call-to-action undertaking. It has to be one call that is strong and emphatic.

3 Parts of a Blog Post

I was looking for the best post structure in the net and I found this 3 parts of a post that could be somehow helpful for us.

3 Parts of a Blog Post

1. An introductory teaser, or funny statement

2. 2 to 3 paragraphs on a SINGLE topic

3. Closing statement, or call to action if you are monetizing your blog, and a teaser for your next topic.

There are no examples given so I guess it is your task to find one.

5 Acts Of Kindness For Bloggers

All these things are not hard at all. They Just require an investment of time and a little money (but that is what asking for prize donations is for), but you know what? The majority of you will not do these because it is too much effort and the results from your investment are not instant.

1. Give Them Some Link Love

Mention them in your posts, say how great they are and how much you loved one of their posts. They may return the favour, but besides that people never give credit where it is due, and you will make them feel so special - especially if they are a newer blogger than you.

2. Be A Generous Blogger

There are so many possibilities with this one but a few possibilities are donating to other bloggers contests, reviewing their blog or their new product that they have created. And don't think since you havn't got a product to donate to a contest that you can help them. Offer an advertising spot on your blog for a month or even a website review - there are so many possibilities to be generous, will you take them?

3. Be Approachable

Do you make it easy for other bloggers to contact you, or do you portray yourself in a way that they might be a bit wary. I am not meaning having a contact for or page (although I do need to get myself one of these), but do you welcome new bloggers requests for assistance. This is a great opportunity to build your network, and who knows one of these 'inexperienced bloggers' may become more popular than you - it is always good to have a wide range of contacts.

4. Offer To Guest Blog

Think back to when you started blogging. How would you have felt if a more experienced blogger offered to do a guest blog on your blog? You would have felt like you could conquer the world - and it may be the one thing that stops them from giving up on blogging.

5. Reward Your Top Commenters With Prizes

I know a lot of people are offering link love to their top commenters, but think of how they would feel if you could give them a gift as well. Whether it be a tangible product like a t-shirt, or an electronic product like and ebook or advertisement spot on your blog, you will gain a few raving fans and possibly a couple of links backs as they tell all their friends about what you gave them! (This is something I will be implimenting after my redesign)

Another 6 Rules in Blogging

6 Rules in Blogging

1. Writing is like talking, so write the way you talk

The easiest way to write in your blog is to write the way you talk because by doing this, your ideas will flow easily and simultaneously.

2. Do not be someone else, be true to yourself

We should not pretend to be someone when we blog. We must be true to yourself because what you are sharing is your experiences, learnings and realizations.

3. Be nice to others and others will be nice to you

Your blog is you. If you will not be nice to others, your blogs will be affected because they represent yourself.

4. Link out your original sources

To pay credit to the author, you must link the original source to your post. In this manner, you can help them too by sending them your traffic.

5. Negative comments are good

Negative comments are good because you can use them as a source of your post. You can create another post just to explain to them your side.
